Do supermodels still rule the world?

They were simply great, amazing and few. I am talking about the supermodels of  the 90´s. They ruled world and were everywhere. Million dollar contracts, advertising campaigns... they were even more famous than movie stars or singers. There haven´t been any supermodel like these, after them except Kate Moss (who started at that time) or Giselle Bounchen. They were on top for over 15 years, and even today they still work (selected jobs), and they sell. They were: Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Naomi Cambell, Helena Christiensen, Christy Turlington, Eva Herzigova, Stephanie Saymour and Tantiana Patitz. Kate Moss came when they were already supermodels. Nobody to this day has made the 

amount of money they did.  They were the runway queens.

Almost 25 years after they started...they are back. And I am breathless after watching them. They are in their fourties. They have been chosen to star in the new Duran Duran video called Girl Panic. Duran Duran  was very famous in the 80´s with some other british and european bands, but they had been in silence since 1994 and this is their comeback. They became famous for using models in their videos, and now they are doing the same. The chosen are: Cindy Crawford (amazing  at 45 years of age ), Naomi Campbell, Eva Herzigova (the first wonderbra girl), Helena Christiensen and Jasmine LeBone (singer´s wife and also a very famous model until she got married) The video has luxury and glamour everywhere; places, cars, champagne, suitcases. On it they play the role of being the members of the band - acting like them, and showing us the world that is associated with  rock bands: alcohol, parties, girls... a world that is strangely similar to the one that surrounded top models. The video is directed by Jonas Akerlund who has directed videos for Madonna, Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, and many more.

The song sounds very 80´s and that´s something cool, weird and new nowadays. The video has had more than 5 million views in 2 months. It´s nothing compared with Rihanna, Lady Gaga or Pitbull, but they have been out of scene almost 15 years, and most of the music consumers don´t even know them. But 5 million views means top models still sell whatever they want  I am still shocked with Cindy. I think this video is a small masterpiece
