And suddenly we find someone "out of the box" in music.

Yes, sometimes these kind of weird things happen. We are used to pop and rock music to be the best selling worldwide. Artists like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Britney, Justin Bieber, Jonas Brothers usually hit the charts, and it is quite difficult to find a new mixture of alternative styles that really rock, besides those being top selling. But sometimes miracles happen. And here are 3 examples.

Adele. There is one post dedicated to this amazing woman, but it's not usual to find an overwight woman on top of charts, when most of the singers look top models or just bitches. Anyway, her voice is fantastic, and her jazz, pop and soul style is simply unbelievable. And

Janelle Monae. Another woman that came out in 2010. Just a young girl who left everyone breathless with her song Tightrope and her look, wearing a tuxedo. R&B, soul, hip hop, blues, and indy pop. Kind of weird, but woth it.

NERD. This group showed up in 2001 and it is lead by the famous producer and R&B and hip hop singer Pharrel Williams. The band mixes rock, funk and hip hop. It is a strange mix but it sounds really good.  In 2010 they brought us an album called Nothing that included a song that I love: Hot n Fun, featuring Nelly Furtado. Actually Nelly is feauturing everything ( I mean she is featuring a lot of songs) and maybe she should Friend-Request Pitbull on Facebook, because she is doing the same. Anyway, the video also is cool. Reminds me of Lenny Kravitz´s American Woman.

Sometimes fresh air is welcome. We all get tired of the mainstream music, dont you?
